Over the last week, I received support requests from individuals who want to translate the first visual novel into French and Polish. Both languages use accented Latin characters that the text engine does not support, and although they are not strictly necessary for clarity, it's one of many limitations of MScenario that needlessly complicates translation efforts. To that end, I have begun work creating a framework for Fuguriya's visual novels in Ren'Py that will contain translated text in plaintext files; the user will need to provide all other assets themselves. This framework will expedite translation work into all languages supported by Unicode and eliminate all of the shortcomings in the visual novel engine still present in the latest release, My Sworn Love For You.

To this end, I require a method of extracting all image, sound, and positional data for each line. ArcTool only extracts text and not associated graphic and voice files. While I can examine decrypted MSD files for this information in a hex editor, manually inputting them into Ren'Py commands will be prohibitively time-consuming. If anyone here can create a solution to rapidly parse MSD files for this information, including scene changes, filename references, and positions, and output all information into a file that I can easily convert into Ren'Py commands, I would greatly appreciate the assistance and begin work on doing this for all of Fuguriya's visual novels.

I'm wondering if you know what are the fonts names for title and it's subtitle in A Kiss For The Petals: Remembering How We Met?

AXYPB says it's FOT-MatisseV Pro-EB for the main title and DFGPOPCorn-W12 for the subtitle.

I don't think I can get anywhere FOT-MatisseV Pro-EB. Even on sites that sells fonts and list this one don't offer it for sell.

This visual novel uses the KiriKiri2/KAG3 engine. It is very well documented and tools are available from TLWiki: http://tlwiki.org/index.php?title=Tools#KiriKiri2.2FKAG3

All work on this visual novel can be accomplished with Kikiriki: http://tlwiki.org/index.php?title=File:Kikiriki.rar

Download translation scripts and development patches: http://www.mediafire.com/download/1zb66fbbhgo7j80/SHIRAYUKI_SRC.zip

patch.xp3 includes patched system scripts; this file is expected to remain constant. patch2.xp3 contains the novel scripts. To work on the scripts, extract Kikiriki and the above archive to your working directory, make changes in the .src files, and run Recompile.bat or run this command:
kikiriki.exe -c -i scripts -o patch2.xp3

I really wanted to play this, I can't read japanese, I'm actually brazillian but I am able to understand English ;w; such a shame that I haven't been able to translate the game even tough I searched so much for the translation. Anything works, it's kinda dissapointing.
If someone has the translation (even if it's not completed) please give me so I can be happy again and understand everything they say ;w;
Thx for people who understands that and also nice job with the translations! seeyuguys

"Nakayoku ne" is a 2-part story in Aoko's collection Restless Kiss. Raws are available, and I've translated both chapters as well.

I’d like to edit this but would it be alright if I don’t remove/edit the sfx. Just all the dialogues and side text?

>> No.5374

>>5373

I think so? I just translated all the sfx and moans and such for the sake of completeness. In some past projects like https://yuriproject.net/in-the-rain-and-cold/ the editor did all the SFX, but in https://yuriproject.net/i-may-to-u/ or https://yuriproject.net/lovely-onee-chan/ most of them are left as-is. So I don't really know what the usual policy is.

>> No.5375

>>5374 I’ll do it with all the dialogues first. Thank you.

>> No.5376

>>5373
>>5374

According to http://wiki.yuriproject.net/guidelines , the guideline is to " SFX: either replace the SFX entirely, or arrange the translated SFX next to the original Japanese ones (font close to the original Japanese font)." The example they give of arranging the translation next to the sound effect is http://i.imgur.com/qnzfU.png . This is commonly known as "Del Reying" the sound effects, as the practice was established by the Del Rey publishing company (whose manga division is now published under the name "Kodansha").

But if you don't want to touch the sound effects at all, I don't think that would stop the work from being released.

I don't know if anyone's paying attention to this, but I thought I'd give you a heads up. I'm pretty sure Natsurei Scans ripped off your raws and used them without giving you credit. The scans they used look remarkably similar to yours, right down to the artifacts. This isn't the first time this has happened. Not sure what if anything you can do about this.

Scripts: http://www.mediafire.com/?k298ocbshsnpko9

Use a text editor to open these UTF files.

Style guide used in past translations:
Stuttering is recorded with one letter each.
Keep the case of the first letter throughout each stutter.
Six dots maximum in groups of three, except in long transitions.
Use past tense to describe events that are happening and present tense to state facts or thoughts.
No second person narration.
Avoid stock translations: "It can't be helped", "As expected of...", etc.
― for trailing off or truncation.
~ or extra letters for extension.
Connect words by ellipses ... only if they're part of the same sentence. Separate by a space otherwise.
Do not strictly follow original punctuation if it makes the translation awkward to read.
Ignore all of the above for vocalizations.
The full name of the school is "St. Michael's School For Girls". The short name is "St. Michael's".

It'll become "It's a cream-like perfume, it's called "Solid Perfume." It's inside a cute case... Recently I've been collecting things like this."

Solid Perfume is actually an existing thing. It's also called "Cream Perfume" or "Body Cream Perfume." Reword as you'd like.

Sorry for having been so quiet. Just been fixing some stuff and adding in SFX at work, haven't been going through to check it cause TBQH I'm kinda sick of it >_> Just gotta go through and read it properly one more time to make sure I didn't break anything with all the edits, there were -a lot- in s012 and s017, the former having lots of sfx to fix up and the later just having them removed entirely so added in checking from the Jp lines.

It actually occurred to me that I was in fact really, really stupid lol. I should have been searching for other instances of the same SFX (from where they were done in this one and checking in the final script for SonoHana9) and copying over the translations appropriately.
Bunch of random noises that I just left as-is. Stuff like kufuun, nfuu, kuann, hyaun, hiin, nguu, nkyu.

I'm certain I got all the double spaces, fixed all the ellipses, the remaining typos and adjusted all the parts I thought were worded a bit poorly or strangely and all that stuff. But as said, need to check again to make sure, after all the edits, that everything still fits well.

Oh and altered a few instances of lines like this: talking directly to Eris "Even if Eris says such a thing" or whatever, couldn't remember a specific example but that sort of thing bugs the hell out of me, especially being a bit too common in translations.

I'll try to read through it again to finish up.

Seeing as the last MSD posted here is quite out of date, I went and compiled the latest scripts on the Wiki, which should have Massaca's edits included.
